A new look for the 2008 Convention
This year, we have changed the format for the Convention, bringing together wide-ranging plenary themes with linked workshops looking at these issues played out on the ground and at what this means for planning and planners. Delegates will get an immediate opportunity to really get to grips with practical matters raised in the themes. We’re also having a bigger Convention than ever before, with more study tours, more fringe events and drinks receptions on the Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Enjoy!

Exhibition of good practice from around the UK and Ireland
Also new in this year’s Convention, in support of the plenary theme of ‘Changing Places in a Changing World’, we will be holding an exhibition of examples of good planning and regeneration practice from around the UK and Ireland, nominated through RTPI Branches, Regions and Nations; through RTPI Networks; and through Planning Aid. There are countless examples of initiatives, processes or projects that represent good practice but are not widely-known. This exhibition, which will go on to form part of a permanent online RTPI Library of Good Practice, will be the first step in bringing them to a wider audience.
