Celebrating another successful Planning Convention
The 2014 Planning Convention has been a sell out success with over 450 attendees. This year’s theme, How will Planners Shape the Future? has delivered many lively moments with exciting debates, news and updates.
We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates for helping us make the event a huge success as part of the RTPI's centenary year.
Highlights have included the world renowned Anil Menon of Cisco taking to the stage and talking about a neglected digital infrastructure and outlining three trends to be aware of for the future: social demographic shifts, economy and technology shifts.
Nick Boles MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Planning spoke to delegates about how Government planning reforms aim to enable planners to spend more time on being creative.
Steve Quartermain, Chief Planner, DCLG also made the press having ruled out support for authorities that fail to get a Community Infrastructure Levy charging schedule in place next year.
Cath Ranson, RTPI President said: "It's been another fantastic Convention and a hugely popular event with delegates. I'd like to personally thank everyone for making this a very special Convention which has yet again set the planning agenda. Please ensure you pre-register your interest for 2015 and to be the first to know when bookings are open."
